MICROBLADE HEALING - WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR TREATMENT

So you're considering microblading, but you have some burning questions….

Will I have to hide away? Will I have to cancel all my plans? Am I going to have to walk around with black eyebrows?

Well, I have great news…

The answer is no!

Microblading, when performed correctly, has very minimal downtime. Straight after your appointment, the hair strokes will look more defined and sharper (this is normal, and lasts about 3-7days) however they shouldn’t look scary at all.

If you are used to pencilling in your brows every day, you will love this stage! waking up to your brows already perfectly shaped and coloured will instantly save you time. Some find the brows a little dark in these first few days, but you dont have to hide as usually no one else will notice. I thought I’d break down the healing day by day so you know exactly what to expect and how to pre-plan…

Here’s what to expect day by day.

Day 1: Your brows are looking full and amazing, slight swelling is pretty normal but overall looking pretty good.

Day 2-6: You wake up.. and they are slightly darker. You may wonder if anyone else will notice. Not to worry brow babe, this is VERY normal. You will be aware of the change on your face, but no one else will notice.

This is the first stage of healing…

Day 7-14: They may start lightly flaking and looking a little patchy. This is from the top layer of pigment being exfoliated away with the skin cells.

Day 14: The pigment is starting to one back..patchy and uneven, however each day more and more strokes are becoming visible again. The severity of this stage depends on many different factors. darker colours tend to one back faster than blondes. however it takes a MINIMUM of 4 weeks to see the final result from the first session. 

Week 4-6: Depending on the technique used, you will return to see your artist for 5-8 weeks for your touch up session. Microblading usually takes a two-session minimum to get the final result. The second session is where you layer more pigment, or add in any hair strokes that haven’t held.

All in all, the downtime is very minimal. Most of our clients are pleasantly surprised at how natural they look straight away.
