Lash lifts were formulated in the early 2000s and originated following the technique of a perm. Small circular rods were placed on the lashes with perm solution to create a curl effect. The treatment has since been redeveloped and reformulated with a safer solution with the addition of keratin, this treatment has become incredibly popular due to its lash-enhancing effect that lasts around 8 weeks.

What does a lash lift do?

A lash lift curls your lashes from the root up, showcasing your lash’s true length. Most lashes grow straight so by enhancing the curl of your lashes, they look up to 5x longer.

How is a lash lift done?

Your lashes are carefully placed on a semi-circle silicone lash pad, the lash pad ranges in size and is selected based on the desired curl effect, we use a smaller rod for a more dramatic curl, and the larger options are for a subtle result. Once your lashes have been applied, we then coat the lashes in the lifting solution, this relaxes the lashes so they mould to the curl.

In the second step, we then apply the lift setting solution which will set the lashes into place, this solution, whilst this does its work, you are lying flat and relaxing, some clients even fall asleep. After the processing time is up, we carefully remove the solution and if needed, tint your brows to intensify the results. Natural lash colour can vary from blonde to black, so your stylist will decide if they need to be coloured so you can get the full effect of the lift.

In the final step, we apply the keratin solution, this strengthens and nourishes your lashes to ensure that there is no damage. This treatment is incredibly hydrating and will leave your lashes looking glossy.

Will a lash lift damage your natural lashes?

Lash lifts when done incorrectly with dodgy formulas can be incredibly damaging. There are many formulas out in the market that can cause permanent damage to the lashes. How long should a lash lift last?

A lash lift should last anywhere between 6-8 weeks, this depends on your natural lashes and also your lifestyle. Things like swimming, saunas etc may affect the longevity of your results.

When can I shower after a lash lift?

You will be able to get the lashes wet approximately 24hours after your treatment, this ensures that the solution has been completely set. On the day of your appointment, your lash stylist will go through aftercare with you so you achieve the maximum benefits from your treatment.

When can I wear mascara after a lash lift?

You will be able to wear mascara 24-48hours after your lash lift, we recommend wearing non-waterproof mascara as these are easily cleaned off at the end of the day without the need for cleansers that can strip your lashes of their natural oils.
